I painted this using watercolour, on watercolour paper. I was new to painting, particularly in watercolour, so I was playing with the colours and techniques I had seen others using. I painted this at the art group I attend.
There wasn’t a purpose to this piece – it’s abstract, and was abstract even to me. I didn’t know what I was painting until I finished it. As is often the case when I paint abstract, it’s only after I’ve finished that I can see what it is. To me it looks like a person watching fireworks. But, what do you see?
Although I didn’t paint with a fixed idea in mind the creative process is still there, and the experience I gained enormous.
I hope you like this painting as much as I do. It’s framed already and would look wonderful on a mantelpiece, on a shelf, or on a wall.
For the month of July I’m donating 25% of sales to The Vine Centre in Aldershot – a very worthy charity which is close to my heart. If you’d like to purchase this piece of beautiful and original artwork, please click the PayPal link above or contact me for other payment arrangements.
